Why does one say “sextuplets” or “sextuple”, but say “hexagon” instead of “sexagon”?

  1. Don’t ask a linguist that, they might explain it to you, then you’d really be sorry. (I believe one is Latin and the other is Greek, and so it’s the area of usage or the point in time of the adoption of the term that determines which language it was stolen from).

    That and you gotta have sex if’n’ you want six kids. Not necessarily so if you want a six-sided figure.
